Brauhaus Zwiebel in Soest

We love the onion. Always very tasty food (for me there is almost always the fillet à la Chef, our son loves the cheese and cream schnitzel and my husband often had the grill plate, but has now discovered the brewhouse roast for himself). Absolutely lovely and funny staff, a rustic atmosphere inside and, in good weather, a small but nice opportunity to sit outside. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Probably one of the best restaurants I've been to. It offers hearty, filling and delicious German food that is very reasonably priced. The in-house brewery also offers amazing beers and spirits to be enjoyed with your meal and/or taken away. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

Always nice - very tasty food, a super cozy brewery atmosphere, very friendly wait staff and sensational beer! I'm looking forward to the end of the lockdown, I will reserve again immediately.

The location is of course great; There is also a lot of praise for the traditional concept of a successful home brewery with young, fresh and modern influences. Unfortunately, I have to give a really bad mark on the food and sometimes also on the service; my fillet of beef was of poor quality and you could see it at first glance. After cutting, the whole truth emerged: one part, due to the lousy cross-section, 'well done', the other part 'medium rare', and only a small section in the middle, as it should be. In addition, criss-crossed with tendons and slimy strips of fat. You shouldn't give something like that to the customer, at most as a neck pillow .... I was offered a replacement (or, alternatively, I was only charged half the price, since I then categorically refuse replacement), but the service had a bad start with accepting our drink requests: Instead of sending us directly when assigning the table ask, we had the opportunity to order drinks for the first time when ordering the food. In addition, no salad was served, but the main course. We got the previously forgotten salad after we pointed it out. You can remove all the flaws I have mentioned very quickly with very few, simple means; I hope the 'onion' does it too!

We liked the beer there. The atmosphere is cozy, we sat on a glazed veranda. Service was on the C grade. They constantly forgot to bring something. The medium steak was not cooked, but the onion that came in addition was very tasty. We'll come just to drink beer.

Super friendly staff, the food is recommended. Drinks could be ordered when they were needed. We are definitely going back.

So far quite good, but I think French fries and salad definitely don't belong on the grill because then everything gets mushy.

Quaint and cozy. Exactly what I expect when I go to a brewery. Good food, friendly service. Price / offer: Very good. The dark on tap is very tasty.

You have to visit this brewery during your stay in Soest, rustically furnished with good home cooking, there is something for every palate. The staff is friendly and attentive. If you come by car, you can park your vehicle on the Brauhaus parking lot.

Delicious food, quick processing by the attentive staff and delicious beer. Good portions and everything was clean (also immediate disinfection of the tables after eating for the purpose of corona). What more do you want.

One of the best breweries in Soest. Great homemade beer. Very good home-style cooking with great soups and delicious main courses. But the absolute figurehead is that great, friendly, competent advisory staff. Absolute recommendation.

I've rarely eaten as well as I did here! The wait staff is totally on the ball and seems to really enjoy their work. The food is very, very tasty and the portions are large. The choice of drinks was huge and varied and also totally delicious. The prices are totally reasonable! When I come to Soest, a visit to the onion is a must ?

Great food and really generous portions, you drink your own brew and enjoy the rustic brewery atmosphere. We like to come regularly and again and again.

The onion is simply the restaurant that you recommend to your friends from outside and thus almost a landmark of Soest. I like the ambience (besides the excellent cuisine) very much. It's just relaxing to sit here in the evening and talk to good friends and it will stay that way for years to come ...

The salad looked like it was from yesterday, the fish had scales everywhere and it was said that it was normal and not to forget that my mother was served a wrong dish which she did not order, she mentioned it to the waiter but he did not think about it To exchange it so that she left the place hungry because she couldn't get it down. If less than one star were possible I would give even less.

This Restaurant is simply the best. Best food, best service, cozy place and affordable price. The first time for me and my hubby eating in this restaurant and i directly in love with this place ?. So if you are traveling to Germany, especially to Soest, this place is highly recommended. Don’t forget to make a reservation, because they are always full.

This is my favorite resturant in all of Europe. Fast service, delicious food, and the most AMAZING beer I've ever had, no exaggeration (Soest Hell). If you don't like Brauhaus Zwiebel just go to McDonalds because you obviously have no taste.

In early June of 2019, I visited Soest for the third time and tried Brauhaus Zwiebel for the first time. Previously I have been to their restaurant Aloisius and had a good experience. I give this place 2 stars for the ambience nothing more. My husband and I had very bad service and the schnitzel was not very good (too thick). My husband has been to this place before several times for business and had good experience when he was with Germans. Our server was pretty rude to us despite our friendliness. The reason for two stars come down to this. When we asked for an after dinner liqueur, the haselnuss, our server slammed down two small bottles of liqueur instead of serving it properly in liqueur glasses as we saw other people enjoying it. We were expected to drink the liqueur out of the bottle like we were drinking shots on the street. The server never came back so that we could ask for glasses to enjoy our drink. We had better service and tastier schnitzel at Wilden Mann, Markt 11.

Great atmosphere, very good beer, good food. Very busy but enjoyed ourselves drinking the beer and watching the barman working hard while we waited for a table to eat.

Got robbed, menu said platter for 2 is 17.50, turns out that was per person, false advertising at it's worst, don't go here.

Excellent schnitzels and realy nice own beer you can recommend this place to anybody. Also very friendly staff. For sure I will visit again
